j.m. wood guarantees that all voice products and auditions are human, never A.I.
about j.m.
Philosophical Grounding:
J.M. is first and foremost an actor and to that end, chiefly concerned with, as Sanford Meisner says: “behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances.”
His story:
While he was not born a voice actor, he got here as quick as he could. He did some stage acting as a young man; however, life led him down a different path for many seasons: Foreign language degrees, teaching, professional pilot, tall ship sailor, US Navy veteran/crypto-linguist, a degree in Theology, and more.
When not in the booth, he can be found tending his bonsai and vegetable gardens, in the wood shop, painting studio, or in the gym.

My position on A.I. / Synthetic Voice / Voice Cloning
You may notice that in the age of AI, I am not a subscriber. I reject the notion that “It’s here to stay after all, and if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! Why not profit from it?” I can’t do that, because I reject the phony. I reject ersatz, the same as I would reject sawdust in my sausage. Because I care: I care about authenticity. I care about the human element in voice acting. I think there is inherent value – value in and of itself – in human-crafted art. I connect to the listener – personally. I speak from a point of view informed by memory, experience and all the stuff that goes with it – something a machine can’t do, I don’t care how well it can mimic.
